The New Portrait at Bishop Gallery



The Bishop Gallery, in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, is pleased to present a curated exhibition by Mathea Millman of new media artists interested in the intersection of personal identity in portraiture as expressed through technology.

Technological advancements introduce a new way of conceptualizing, constructing, and imaging ourselves in a space somewhere between actuality and representation in the digital age.This gallery show aims to showcase artists who are interested in the concepts of self, identity and portraiture in relation to the integration of technology into our lives in the 21st century.

Featured artists: Sierra Siemer, Josh Turk, Travis Rainey, A.E. Kieren, Tyler Barker, Ally Lindsay, Benji Sayed, Keith Millman, Jonathan Melville Pratt, Gifriends.

The opening is on Saturday, August 9th from 7-10pm at the Bishop Gallery, 916 Bedford Ave. Closest train is the Bedford-Nostrand G train. The show is free and open to the public. Please contact Mathea at for more information.
